We are proud to share that Studio Aditya Mandlik will be the first Indian architecture studio to showcase an architectural pavilion in the Netherlands. This marks an important milestone for our practice. It also marks an important milestone for Indian design on a global stage.

Factory 5.0 is conceived as an experimental pavilion that redefines the relationship between production, ecology, and materiality. The installation operates as a metabolic system, integrating organic and inorganic components within a closed-loop framework. Designed for modularity and disassembly, the structure emphasizes adaptability and resource-conscious construction, offering a different narrative to conventional architectural production.

Central to the project is a post-anthropocentric perspective, positioning natural processes as active collaborators. The pavilion incorporates decomposing systems to transform synthetic materials through biological agents, reflecting a commitment to circular design principles and speculative sustainability.

Dutch Design Week is Europe’s largest design event, and being part of the Grand Projects program places Factory 5.0 alongside some of the most ambitious and thought-provoking works from around the globe. It’s an opportunity to share our vision with an international audience and engage in conversations about the future of design in an era defined by climate challenges and technological acceleration.

The first edition of Factory 5.0 was presented at The Nine Fish Art Gallery, Mumbai, laying the foundation for this global journey.

We can’t wait to bring this idea to life in Eindhoven this October—a journey made possible through incredible collaborations with Dutch Design Foundation and Bureau Binnenstad Eindhoven. Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes updates as we prepare to build, install, and share Factory 5.0 with the world.
